Therefore after looking at figures from Zoopla, we thought we would provide you with a countdown of the five most expensive places to buy property in Surrey.

Windlesham
Windlesham comes in the top five of the most expensive areas in Surrey. The village and surrounding areas saw 50 properties sell in the previous 12 months with an average costs of £856,000.
The village is in Surrey Heath and has a population of 17,000. It does not have its own train station, so commuters need to travel to nearby Bagshot to get the train to London, but it does have good access to the M3 motorway.
East and West Molesley
The fourth most expensive place to buy property in Surrey is Molesley (East and West) with a cost of £892,000 on average. The area has a population of 50,000, with most of the detached houses and apartments situated in the east.
The area lies south of the River Thames and is close to Hampton Court Palace. Nearby Kingston upon Thames is also good for shopping.
Esher and Claygate
The KT10 postcode of Esher and Claygate comes in third with an average property price of £938,000 (based on the 205 properties sold in the previous 12 months). This shows a rise of 3.24% of the year.
The area lies east of the River Mole and contains the very scenic Esher Common.
Cobham
Second on our list of most expensive places to buy property in Surrey, is Cobham. Based on the 133 properties sold in the previous 12 months, the average here comes out at £1,103,000, showing a rise of 2.75% over the previous year.
It is only 17 miles south west of London and has a population of 11,000. Amongst them, you may see the occasional Chelsea footballer walking around the town, as this is where their training ground is situated.
Virginia Water
Coming in as the most expensive place to buy property in Surrey, is Virginia Water. With 51 properties sold in the previous 12 months, the average cost of property here is a staggering £1,239,000.
Virginia Water is home to the uber post Wentworth Estate and Wentworth Golf Club, with many of the homes in the area situated in the estate. Its population is 6,000 and has a railway station that runs to London Waterloo.
